Today, I was pretty bored and I decided to actually go through and monitor what videos I had saved on TikTok that I actually needed. I finally used the Collections feature of the app to organise my videos based on edits, affirmations and recipes. Some of the oldest videos there were for advice about what to expect going into uni, hair product recommendations and life saving advice for the day I’d be (mostly) living alone. Out of 400+ videos I had saved, 222 (I think?) were useful enough for me to keep in my Saved folder and write the advice, tips or recommendations down for.
The first thing that I had written was a video on how to save a choking child under one. I don’t think I knew any babies at the time to save this, but I thought to myself, save ‘just in case’. The next few notes were based on hair care/hair products, restaurants, cameras…there’s not really much of a link to the things I thought were important enough to write down. But what I really liked about how I thought about the things I needed to know, a lot of them were either saved for the benefit of helping someone else that I might not know now, but will know later, enriching my own life experiences and places that I would hope to go with the people around me. Thonglor Express, for example. They have a limited time lunch deal that was introduced to me by my best friend. When she sent it, I gave an appreciative heart reaction and said we should totally go, but I’m not sure whether she believed I was saying it to be polite or because I meant it. When she gets the present I plan to give her in a few days for her birthday, this is where we’ll be going. I was once again confronted with the type of person I am and happy with what I was seeing.
It made me realise I need to cut this man off for good, unless he’s able to help me with job opportunities, because why would I gaf about a guy who genuinely only feels lust towards me?
Yeah, I’m ending this Substack here! Nothing more humbling than realising just how much better you are than a situation! feel free to use the recommendations on the note, btw.
